Evans SS15 Design Collective

Last night I was invited to the Evans Design Collective SS15 at the prestigious Freemasons Hall in London’s Covent Garden.

The Design Collection is a new Evans initiative to bring high end designers to the high street.

You may already know of some designers already creating capsule collections for high street stores like Alexander Wang for H&M, but Sir Phillip Green (the owner of Arcadia group including Top Shop and Miss Selfridge) is taking the Evans store that one step further by enlisting not one, but six designers!

The designers are Giles Deacon, Hema Kaul, Vita Gottlieb, Lulu liu, Jamie Wei Huang and Clements Ribeiro who created a beautiful collection in keeping with the Evans brand.

For those of you how don’t know, Evans is a plus sized store with garments ranging from 14-32. With the average size being a 16, it is a welcome sight to have garments that are fashionable, flattering and versatile.

I must say, having been at fashion week watching tiny framed models walk the catwalk for the last 5x days, to see plus sized models walk confidently in the Evans show was a breath of fresh air!

Celebrities watching the show and enjoying the champagne reception after included Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, Singer & TV presenter Brix Smith, GMTV fashion presenter Mark Heyes & fashion presenter & stylist Darren Kennedy. And of course Sir Philip Green himself who I chatted to afterwards.

The collection had a great selection of separates, evening dresses and feminine day-wear. All ticking the boxes for next years trends from sheer blouses to pleated skirts, wide leg trousers, artistic prints and cleverly positioned embellishment.

Here are a few pics of the event…
