La Redoute A/W2013 Press Day – Paris

Last week I boarded the Eurostar and headed down to Paris for the much anticipated press day of La Redoute’s A/W 2013 collection at Atelier Richelieu.
Based on what I had seen on the A/W catwalks recently with punk and the androgynous look being prominent (not quite La Redoute’s style) I was intrigued to see what direction they had taken for next season.
The key colour they have chosen was far from androgynous – it was pink. Seen on the catwalks by the likes of Miu Miu & Tom Ford, it featured across many feminine pieces in the collection ranging from jumper dresses to shoes and flirty dresses such as the one below which I loved!

Animal prints were also key to the collection – again seen on the catwalks be designers such as Sister by Sibling and Burberry. My favourite pieces were the snakeskin print trousers (which I talked about in the video we made) and an oversized coat that had blue leopard print at the bottom – something a little different!

Another trend La Redoute picked up on was the oversized coats, but there were so many to variantions to choose from I lost count! Next season there will certainly be something for everyone!

The great thing about La Redoute is that every season they have a selection of guest designers and this year included Courréges (some say was the inventor of the miniskirt) with futuristic sixties inspired clothes including a coat with magnetic fastening! Divine. The collaboration with Courréges was even featured in Vogue the other week so it’s bound to be a popular choice next season.
There was also a stunning vintage inspired collection ‘Mademoiselle R’ that I can also see being really popular. I loved the blouses – they would work really well with either a pair of skinny trousers or pretty skirt.

I had so much fun selecting & talking about the clothes for the stylist videos – all in all another fantastic day in Paris. Videos will be on the ‘Blog’ page at some point so keep an eye out –  http://www.laredoute.co.uk
